Access to this journal is open. It is published electronically as a bi-monthly journal with full access available on the journal's website and is published by the Consulting Engineers for Water and Wastewater Design and Research, which has been in publication since 1989. From 1996 to 2005, it was published with a promotional scientific degree, and since 2005, it has been published continuously with a research scientific degree from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.

The Water and Wastewater Journal is committed to archiving, which means the long-term preservation and provision of access to electronically published research information in the journal. The Water and Wastewater Journal evaluates each case of plagiarism based on its criteria. If plagiarism is identified by editors, reviewers, or editorial board members at any stage of publication—before or after acceptance, during editing, or at the proof stage—the author(s) will be warned and asked to revise the text and provide accurate citations to the original sources. If the plagiarism is extensive, the article may be rejected. In cases of extensive plagiarism detected after publication, the article will be removed from the archive, the plagiarism will be announced on the journal's website, and the name(s) of the author(s) will be placed on a blacklist.
