In order to develop a simple method for household water treatment in rural areas, efficiency of  modified activated alumina with iron compounds- a product of Alcan Company with trade name of AAFS-50- was studied Equilibrium batch experiments were carried out using shaker incubator and arsenic was analyzed with SDDC method. Effects of initial concentration of arsenic, adsorbent dose, oxidation state of arsenic, pH and oxidation with chlorine on adsorption were studied. Correlation coefficient of Freundlich and Laungmuier  isotherms  for As(V) and As(III) were 0.964 , 0.991 and 0.970, 0.978 respectively . These results show that adsorption of arsenic on modified activated alumina is compatible with both models specially Laungmuier models. Removal efficiency of As(V) at 0.5 ,1 and 2 hr increased with doubling the adsorbent dose from 44.8 to 72%, 69.6 to 90.8 and 92.4 to 98% ; respectively. Experiments using different concentrations of arsenic showed that adsorption of arsenic on activated alumina are a first order reaction that is, rate of reaction is dependent on intial; concentration of arsenic. Removal efficiency for concentration of 0.250 mg/L of arsenic, with increasing of reaction time from 15 min to 60 min, increased 1.54 times and reached from 61% to 94%. During 2hrs, removal of As(V) and As(III) were 96% and 16% respectively. Using 1.5 mg/L Chlorine as oxidant agent, removal of As(III) was increased to 94%. In the case of pH effect, rate of adsorption increased for arsenite, with increasing of pH to 8 and decreased with more increasing, so that adsorption at pH 14 was equal to pH 2. For arsenate, the most adsorption was observed at pH between 6 to 8 . These results show that by using the studied activated alumina, there will not be need for adjustment of pH and the activated alumina used in this study could have application as a safe adsorbent for removal of arsenic from drinking water in simple household treatment systems in form of adsorptive column.}, keywords = {ARSENIC,Removal,Activated Alumina,Drinking Water,Freundlich Model,Laagmuier Mode}, title_fa = {حذف آرسنیک از آب آشامیدنی با استفاده از آلومینای فعال اصلاح شده}, abstract_fa = {مصرف آب آشامیدنی حاوی آرسنیک قادر است در دراز مدت باعث بروز انواع ضایعات پوستی، فشار خون بالا، سرطان پوست و نهایتاً سرطانهای داخلی گردد. نظر به آلوده بودن آبهای مصرفی به آرسنیک در تعدادی از روستاهای کشور از جمله در استان کردستان، در تحقیق حاضر کارآیی یک نوع آلومینای فعال اصلاح شده با ترکیبات آهنی محصول شرکت آلکان کانادا به اسم  AAFS-50، با هدف توسعه فناوری ساده تصفیة خانگی آب در مناطق روستایی مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. آزمایشهای تعادلی در حالت منقطع با استفاده از بهمزن انجام گرفت و آرسنیک با روش SDDC آنالیز شد. در مدت انجام تحقیق، تأثیر غلظت اولیه آرسنیک، دُز جاذب، حالت اکسیداسیون آرسنیک و pHبر عمل جذب بررسی شد. نتایج حاصله نشان داد که ضریب همبستگی مدل‌های فروندلیچ و لانگمیر به ترتیب برابر 0/964 و 0/991 برای As(V) و 0/97 و 0/978 برای As(III) است که مشخص می‌کند جذب آرسنیک بر روی آلومینای فعال اصلاح شده بالاترین همخوانی را با مدل لانگمیر دارد. با دو برابر شدن دز جاذب، راندمان حذف As(V) در زمانهای 0/5 ، 1 و 2 ساعت به ترتیب از 44/8 به 72درصد ، از 69/6 به 90/8درصد و از 92/4 به 98 درصد افزایش یافت. آزمایش با غلظتهای مختلف آرسنیک نشان داد که عمل جذب این ماده توسط آلومینای فعال به نوعی، از واکنش درجه یک پیروی نموده و نرخ واکنش وابسته به غلظت اولیه است. برای غلظت اولیة 0/250 میلی‌گرم بر لیتر با چهار برابر شدن زمان از 15 دقیقه به 60 دقیقه، راندمان حذف با ضریب  1/54 برابر افزایش یافته و به 94 درصد رسید. در مدت دو ساعت مقدار حذف As(V) و As(III) به ترتیب به 96 درصد و 16درصد  بالغ شد که با استفاده از کلر به میزان 1/5 میلی‌گرم بر لیتر راندمان حذف As(III) به 94 درصد افزایش یافت. از نظر تأثیر pH مشاهده شد که مقدار جذب آرسنیت با افزایش pH تا 8، افزایش یافته و سپس با افزایش بیشتر pH کاهش می‌یابد به گونه‌ای که مقدار جذب، در pH برابر 14 تقریباً برابر 2 است. بیشترین مقدار جذب برای As(V) در pH بین 6 تا 8 مشاهده شد. اعداد به دست آمده نشان می‌دهد که در صورت استفاده از آلومینای فعال حاضر نیازی به تنظیم pH آب ورودی و کاهش آن وجود ندارد و آلومینای فعال استفاده شده می‌تواند به عنوان یک جاذب مطمئن در حذف آرسنیک از آب آشامیدنی در سیستم‌های ساده تصفیه خانگی و در قالب ستونهای جذب به کار رود.}, keywords_fa = {حذف آرسنیک,آب آشامیدنی,آلومینای فعال,مدل فروندلیج,مدل لانگمیر}, url = {https://www.wwjournal.ir/article_1821.html}, eprint = {https://www.wwjournal.ir/article_1821_4238a02a733cbbaaa0d8428592067076.pdf} }
